Like Deadheads, but with jobs Jimmy Buffett is set to play Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden. Probably by the time you read this, the parrotheads will have bought all the tickets. If there are any left, he puts on a great show, which, like the title of his greatest hits album, is full of Songs You Know by Heart. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $65-$200. Info: 474-4000.
Put those lighters down, this is classical music! Distinguished pianist Andre Watts closes out the Charles Vanda Master Series season by performing some classy music. On his hit list are composers Frederic Chopin, Claude Debussy and Franz Schubert. Discovered at age 16 by conductor Leonard Bernstein, Watts has been a globetrotting pianist ever since. These days he can be found plunking the ivories in concert about 100 times per year. Andre Watts performs at UNLV's Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall at 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $29-$59. Info: 895-2787. |
