All the good letters were taken

Cirque du Soleil's at the Bellagio is still one of the toughest tickets to get in town, but unlike many other high-ticket shows in town, it's worth every penny. In fact, it's worth the price of admission just to see how long a man is willing to let himself casually be on fire. Shows are at 7:30 and 10:30 Friday through Tuesday. Tickets are $93.50-$121. Info: 693-7722.

The return of the king

It's been almost a year since a Mercury interview with B.B. King touched off a landslide of hate and vitriol from his loyal fans. So we tender this recommendation in hopes of getting back on his Christmas card list. The House of Blues hosts the King of the Blues at 7 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $75-$125. Info: 632-7600.

Just say no to props

Yes, you could pay to see a telephone pitchman yank a seemingly endless succession of wacky items out on stage, or you could go see comedy the way it was meant to be seen: up close and personal, with lots of booze. Dom Irrera is a master of grabbing the audience by its collective metaphorical genitalia and commanding its undivided attention. He'll be performing at the Riviera Comedy Club with Mike Ivy and Lisa Mende at 8 and 10 p.m Jan. 6-12. Tickets are $25.74. Info: 794-9433.
