A/E Highlights

Here's a leading question

Rock & Pop Masters featuring Larry Hoppen, the original lead singer of "Orleans," Jimi Jamison, the original lead singer of "Survivor" and Alex Ligertwood, the original lead singer of "Santana" perform at the Lounge at Palms Casino. So, who's singing lead? Oh sure, they'll probably be all polite and take turns, but there's just an off chance that each song will be preluded by a spirited round of "rocks, paper, scissors" or maybe even nude Jell-O wrestling. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $25. Info: 942-7777.

DMX-men

Is Li'l Kim the latest member of the X-Men, with the mutant power to make cloud men's minds and make caption writers forget she doesn't have top billing on this show? It might explain the nifty red leather suit and the goggles. She certainly has the Brobdingnagian borbaloozas of the average comic book superheroine. Must ... resist ... hypnotic ... powers. DMX headlines with Busta Rhymes and Li'l Kim at the Orleans Arena on 4500 W. Tropicana Saturday. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $35-$125. Info 284-7777.

He is THE LIZARD KING! Sort of

There is some sort of law, perhaps Murphy's or the Third Law of Thermodynamics, that states that eventually every dead musician will have an impersonator in Las Vegas. It's just that the dead sex gods whose gravesites have been turned into bizarre pop culture shrines and meccas for the bad, nihilistic poets of the world get first crack at the "honor." So without further ado, Peace Frog, a Doors tribute act is playing at the Cannery at 8 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free. Info: 507-5700.

Take the skinheads bowling

Film aficionados from around the world will converge on Las Vegas to quote dialogue, dress up in costume and celebrate all things Lebowski Friday night from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Imperial Palace. There will be a screening of The Big Lebowski, complete with fans dressed up in costume acting out the scenes and yelling out dialogue--a la the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Tickets are $10. 731-3311.
