CLEAN CONSCIENCE: Remember the old TV commercial with that buckskin-clad Native American who cried when those careless litterers through the garbage at his feet? Now, remember last week when you threw that bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken out the window because it was original recipe and not extra crispy? That's right, you were the person who made that poor man cry. Fortunately, now's the perfect time to make up for your indiscretions. The Mount Charleston Lodge is planning the Mount Charleston Cleanup Day on Sat., June 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone and everyone is welcome, and the lodge will hook all participants up with a complimentary hot dog and soda. Registration is not required, but volunteers must bring their own trash bags. Kleenexes for weeping Native Americans are optional but encouraged. Info: 872-5408.

ECO WARRIOR: And while you're at it, why not put some time in at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Center? They need volunteers to help with everything: trails, landscaping, classes, clerical work and the like. Take a deep breath and feel that liberal guilt just fade away. Info: 515-5354.
