Thursday, November 18, 2004 A/E Highlights
Cooler than Civil War re-enactors Don't get us wrong, we like rockabilly, but when you really think about it, how different are rockabilly bands from renaissance fair dudes, madrigal singers and the cowboys at Bonnie Springs? That ought to get some conversation going. The Rockabilly Rat Rod Reunion After Party, featuring the Riptones and Paul Galaxy and the Galactix, takes place at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday the Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road. Admission is free. Info: 507-5700.
Can we get fries with that wedding? We hate her , we hate her, we hate her! Why didn't we think to write this book? Oh, yeah that would have been work. Okay, she's okay with us now. The ultimate guide to the Vegas wedding phenomenon is available now. Susan Marg will be signing her fun, fact-filled book, Las Vegas Weddings, at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jewel Box Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road (in the Clark County Library.) Info: 507-3459.
We feel dirty. Is that a good thing? Damn you, Phil Donahue! We don't know what to think. Are we allowed to think impure thoughts about these women because they're openly expressing their sexuality through bump-and-grind dance routines? Get back to us on this, because we're thinking of objectifying ourselves. The Sin City Grind Kittens and The Formaldebrides perform at 10 p.m. Saturday at the New York Café, 4080 Paradise Road. Admission is free. Info: 796-0589. |
