Lily Sloan/Silverbullet
Imagine actress Alfre Woodard (Follow Me Home, Star Trek: First Contact) with a short-cut blond afro.* At midnight, on Jan. 1, 2000 A.D., Lily Sloan first bathes in a tub of holy water and then takes a leap of faith (or a suicidal plunge, since she was blacklisted from teaching) into a neighboring tub of molten silver. Miraculously, Lily emerges with the superhuman ability to transform her entire body into silver. While she's either partially or completely silver, Lily can literally stretch parts of her body as far as a few meters, become an intangible liquid for covert or quick-flowing travel, and form spears or blades out of her hands/forearms. The latter comes in handy (no pun intended) when she has to decapitate vampires or impale werewolves. Since it's obviously advantageous to maintain both privacy (she has a girlfriend, Rose, to think about, who nicknames her "Goldie"*) and the element of surprise in combat, Lily usually sees to it she's entirely silver when in action so her head and facial features will be indistinguishably metallic. That way, her enemies and the public will know her only as Silverbullet.

Father Mario Garibaldi
Descended from the Garibaldis who fought against Franco in the Spanish Civil War, Mario Garibaldi has a long tradition of leftist activism. He almost didn't become a Catholic priest because of his rebellious ways: everything from publicly demanding that the pope charitably donate all the wealth in Vatican City to painting the skins of various biblical figures shades of brown. Over the years, Garibaldi has marched alongside Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s, almost starved to death during a hunger strike against the Vietnam Invasion in the '70s, and turned his entire cathedral into a homeless shelter in the '80s. In the 1990s, Garibaldi was thrown into solitary confinement because he protested police brutality and once there had a vision of Colonel Krieg Kruger's Fourth Reich of vampires and werewolves, and of Silverbullet. He spent the last of his money installing a tub of holy water and of molten silver in the cathedral's basement and waited in abject poverty until the time came when fate led him to Lily Sloan. In the war for humanity, Father Garibaldi is the conscience of the reluctant Silverbullet, who otherwise would not have been chosen to save the world.

Colonel Krieg Kruger
Bored with being the commandant of a death camp during World War II, Krieg Kruger put in for a transfer to a more physically taxing assignment. Coincidentally, Adolph Hitler was looking for someone to command a crack team that would scour the occult for anything that could help the Nazi cause. Kruger took his team to Transylvania, where he pretended to be a disheveled wanderer and thus attracted the attention of Count Dracula. Underestimating the colonel, Dracula found himself ambushed and killed by Kruger's team once he had drained his live victim of blood. Now a vampire, Kruger bit all the members of his team and returned to Berlin as fast as he could to bite Hitler as well, but arrived at the Fuhrer's bunker moments after that fateful suicide. Since a dead man can't become a vampire, Kruger declared himself Fuhrer of the Fourth Reich, returned to Transylvania to capture a werewolf, and had his lowest-ranking noncommissioned officers bitten by the beast because he feared too many vampires would mean too much competition for power. For the next 55 years, Kruger secretly recruited white supremacists and changed them into either one of his vampire elite or a rank-in-file werewolf, depending on how impressed he was by the fascist in question. Once he learned of Y2K, Kruger knew when his Fourth Reich would strike, but thus far he's been kept at bay by pockets of armed resistance and an X factor known to him only as Silverbullet.
